The Strait Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate our 8th year of Celtic Oktoberfest – Cape Breton’s first ever all inclusive craft beer, local food and music gathering! The Chamber created Celtic Oktoberfest to showcase the best of Nova Scotian craft beer and Cape Breton food. Over time we have expanded to include local wine and cider. Oktoberfest attracts a sell out crowd of approximately 400 people each year.

For the price of a ticket, attendees will receive all inclusive access to tasty treats from a variety of food vendors and 12 tickets to sample the highest quality products from a variety of breweries, cider house and winery!

To make it a true Cape Breton party we’ve lined up Rankin MacInnis & the Broken Reeds to take the stage and make this a night to remember! We’ll get the evening started with some lively tunes from St Peter’s very own Ross Rankin!

Chamber Members have FIRST DIBS on 2023 Celtic Oktoberfest Tickets! Ticket Sales Open to Chamber Members from 9am till 12pm on August 16th. After this Ticket Sales will Open Up to Non-Chamber Members.

Rankin MacInnis & the Broken Reeds

Rankin MacInnis, singer, songwriter and maestro extraordinaire from Mabou, NS, is making a compelling case to be crowned King of the Kitchen Party. His infectious stage passion combined with one of the most impressive bands of the Atlantic, makes him and the Broken Reeds the perfect hosts for the award winning and nominated events Blueberry Jam (Cape Breton) and Rankin’s Winter Warmers (Halifax, NS).

Early in 2021 Rankin and the Broken Reeds put out an instrumental track, Beatrixx, that features the band live and blazing. Currently, they are preparing songs for their debut album, set to be released in 2023.

Ross Rankin

Ross Rankin is a Cape Bretoner, raised River Bourgeois. He blends classic rock with a few modern twists. His high energy foot tapping rhythms and soaring vocals ensures a perspirational evening of great music and fun. Ross has been playing for the past 13 years and is in 2 bands, Flat Black Cadillac – a blues/rock band and Denacious T – a Tenacious D cover band.
