Strait Area Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking an individual for the position of

 

Executive Director

 

The Strait Area Chamber of Commerce (SACOC) is a business development organization that promotes, improves, and protects trade and commerce; ensuring that the Strait Area is one of the best regions in which to invest, live, work and conduct business. We are active and growing rapidly with currently over 380 members from across rural Cape Breton and the Northern Mainland of Nova Scotia. Our job is to work with business to build a stronger economy and a better community.

Responsibilities:

A key leadership position, the Executive Director (ED), under the authority of the Board of Directors, assumes complete responsibility for carrying out the assigned policies and regulations of the SACOC. The ED directs the implementation of the Chamber’s programs and services and is responsible for the management of all staff members and volunteers.

Requirements:

An undergraduate degree coupled with at least three years in progressive leadership roles. Candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of strategy implementation along with aptitude for financial reporting and budgeting. Experience working in an enterprising non-profit environment is an asset.

    •       Forward-thinking coupled with strong interpersonal skills
