The Strait Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate our 9th year of Celtic Oktoberfest – Cape Breton’s first ever all inclusive craft beer, local food and music gathering! The Chamber created Celtic Oktoberfest to showcase the best of Nova Scotian craft beer and Cape Breton food. Over time we have expanded to include local wine and cider.

Attracting a sell-out crowd of over 400 enthusiastic attendees, Celtic Oktoberfest has become the must-attend event of the year.

Come and experience the best of Nova Scotia’s flavors and sounds with us!

For the price of a ticket, attendees will receive all inclusive access to tasty treats from a variety of food vendors and 12 tickets to sample the highest quality products from a variety of breweries, cider house and winery!

To make it a true Cape Breton party we’ve lined up Pretty Archie to take the stage and make this a night to remember! We are also very excited to have the super talented Liam Brophy start the evening off in fine style!

Chamber Members have FIRST DIBS – Early Bird access to 2024 Celtic Oktoberfest Tickets! Ticket Sales Open to Chamber Members from 9am till 12pm on June 28th. After this Ticket Sales will open up to Non-Chamber Members.

MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT

Main Act: Pretty Archie

Pretty Archie is a distinguished five-piece band originating from Sydney, Nova Scotia. Formed in 2012, the group comprises long-time friends Brian Cathcart (lead vocals, guitar), Matt McNeil (mandolin, guitar), Colin Gillis (harmonica, bass, vocals), Redmond MacDougall (banjo, percussion, vocals), and Scott MacLean (guitar, mandolin). The band’s name honors a Cape Breton local who embodied a passion for music and performance. Regardless of where their tours take them, Pretty Archie remains a proud representative of their hometown.

The band delivers high-energy performances, blending Americana, contemporary roots, and alt-country genres. Since releasing their debut album, Steel City, in 2013, Pretty Archie has cultivated a substantial following on the East Coast, throughout Canada, and is poised to expand their international audience. With each record and tour, Pretty Archie brings a piece of their home a bit further afield.

Opening Act: Liam Brophy

Liam Brophy is a local artist who, in 2014, because of his cd release of Better Man Blues, won the spot for The East Coast Blues Society’s Solo artist of the year. This award allowed him to participate in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis where he met and performed for some of the world’s best blues players. He was also nominated for an ECMA in the solo blues artist category. He has been a performer at the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival, the Dutch Mason Festival and the ECMA’s. Liam calls Antigonish home where he lives a very busy life with his wife and four children. They are all very much involved with the community and what it has to offer. He plays acoustic sets at many venues in Antigonish, Guysborough, and Pictou County as well in Cape Breton. Liam’s repertoire of music is vast and his ability to take a song and make it his own is something to hear. From old blues tunes, to 80’s pop and modern rock, his powerful voice has a range that can tackle any song and his guitar playing can’t be touched
