This Small Hall | Big Ideas session is open to the business community, especially for those who are part of or intend joining the Board of Directors of not-for-profit organizations. This 3-hour intensive training will cover the best practices in governance for Boards of Directors including:

Alyson Townsend is a proven leader. Her results-oriented, ethical approach led to the growth and success of a national industry association and advocacy group for small and medium sized telecommunications and broadband companies, that she co-founded in 1994. Under her leadership, nationwide membership grew from 45 companies to nearly 120, servicing approximately 700,000 Canadians. As CEO, good governance was an everyday part of her strategic thinking on behalf of the organization. Before that, Alyson worked as a litigator for almost 10 years, appearing at all levels of the Courts of New Brunswick, representing her clients on a wide variety of issues.
